Karl lives in a town that looks to a tall, mysterious tower for the time. The tower is built from a wobbly stack of building blocks, and every morning, noon and evening an elderly timekeeper rings its bell so the townspeople know the hour. One day the noon bell stays silent, and the townsfolk are left unsure of when to have lunch. Now something is wrong. Karl, a curious boy, decides to head to the plaza at the foot of the tower to find out what has happened, and his fantasy adventure begins from there.
