The friendship between each kid and their Digimon isn't decoration, it's the entire engine of the show. At summer camp, seven children are startled by snow falling in July. In the confusion, each receives a strange device that carries them off to the Digital World, a place far from home where creatures called Digimon live. The Digimon befriend the kids and keep them out of danger, and the children set out to find a way back and to learn why they were brought there. Led by the impulsive Taichi Yagami and his hungry partner Agumon, they come to learn they are the Chosen Children, charged with defending the Digital World from evil Digimon such as Devimon and Vamdemon. The series mixes action and adventure with comedy and drama in a sci-fi fantasy setting.
