Kizuna Ichigeki throws a martial arts tournament at you and then refuses to let the energy drop, stacking one absurd challenge onto another until the day becomes its own kind of battle. The animation shifts styles with every fight, sketchy lines and bold color blocking turning what could be a forgettable short into something you actually want to watch twice. It knows exactly what it is: a 20-minute sprint with no interest in being profound, just in being fun.

Kizuna Todoroki is a young girl who fights with her family's style, the Wadachi Ju-ken school founded by her grandfather. She has just won a major martial arts tournament by beating the long-reigning champion, and she used the prize money to clear her grandfather's huge debt. A reporter then arrives at the Todoroki home to interview her about the win and the school. Before the interview can finish, challengers start turning up, hoping to beat the young champion and take her title. As more and more of them arrive, Kizuna struggles to fight them all off while the reporter learns more about the family. The film is a short comedy made as part of the Young Animator Training Project.
