Kobo Tabata is a young boy growing up in an ordinary Japanese household. His father is a regular salaryman, his mother is a homemaker, and his maternal grandparents help look after the family and its pets. There is also his uncle, a somewhat heavyset high school teacher. Even in such a normal home, odd situations keep cropping up, some brought on by Kobo growing up and others by the family's own habits and mix-ups. This television special aired ahead of the TV series and offers light, everyday comedy in a slice of life setting.
