Tarobei, an honest and hard-working old man with a lump on his cheek, is gathering firewood in the mountains when a sudden storm drives him into the hollow of a tree. He falls asleep there and wakes to moonlit music, which leads him to a lively party thrown by long-nosed goblins. When their leader asks for a dance, Tarobei obliges with a comic performance, and the goblins take away his lump as a pledge that he will come back. Back in the village, the greedy Jirobei, who has a lump of his own, hears the story and hopes to win a reward too. The film is a short supernatural folktale from 1929.
