Koro-sensei Q! strips away everything serious about Assassination Classroom and asks: what if your monster teacher just wanted to mess with you. The comedy works because you already know these characters care about each other, so watching them get absolutely destroyed by elaborate pranks and ridiculous situations lands harder than it should. It's fan service that actually respects the source material by ignoring it completely. This is pure chaos for people who watched the main series and need to remember why they loved these kids in the first place.

Assassination Classroom gets a comedic fantasy spin-off in this short film. Class 3-E returns in chibi form as students of Kunugigaoka Magic School, where they train in swordsmanship and sorcery. Their goal is to defeat the evil Demon King Koro-sensei while dealing with the trials and dangers of life at a magic school. The short first screened in Japanese cinemas alongside Assassination Classroom the Movie: 365 Days' Time. It was later reused as the second episode of the Koro-sensei Q! ONA series.
