A newspaper arrives at your door every morning predicting who dies today. You don't know why you're the only one who gets it, and you can't stop reading. Kyoufu Shinbun is pure dread dressed as routine, the horror of foreknowledge without the power to change anything. The OVA format means it doesn't soften the material for pacing, two episodes of escalating helplessness, each prediction a small apocalypse you see coming. Every morning, Rei receives the Kyoufu Shinbun, a strange newspaper whose pages foretell deaths and catastrophes before they happen. He has no idea why this paper keeps coming to him. The two-episode horror OVA from 1991 adapts Jirou Tsunoda's classic horror manga of the same name, which ran in Weekly Shounen Champion.
