Nobody talks about this one. That needs to stop. A silent, hand-drawn love letter to 1940s Warner Bros. cartoons dropped in the middle of a detective mystery, and it works because Lee's Detective Agency already trusts you enough to let the animation speak for itself. The episode moves like those old shorts did, all physical comedy and visual storytelling, which means you're reading the case through movement and expression instead of exposition. It's a palate cleanser that could have been a gimmick. Instead it lands as the show reminding you why animation matters at all. By the time it ends, you understand Lee differently.

A one-episode ONA special for Lee's Detective Agency, released between the fifth and sixth episodes of the main series. Originium slugs have ruined a good crop, and as a result a Feline and a Zalak go their separate ways. The special is drawn to evoke the golden age of American animation and tells its story without any dialogue.
