You sit down expecting a cute forest fable and instead get Tchaikovsky's Fourth used as a storyboard. The 1987 original ran animation history itself as the plot, sliding from scratchy silent-era rubber hose through fat Disney-style rounding into full modern cel work while a squirrel watched loggers turn his home into stumps, and the music never once got treated as background. This is the movement Tezuka died before finishing, pulled out of his notes and completed decades later by Tezuka Productions, which means you are watching a dead man's timing sheets get honored beat for beat. There is no dialogue to hide behind, so every emotional cue rides on scoring hits and the pace of a cut. Fans of the first one already know the trick: the forest is not just being destroyed, it is being animated to death and then resurrected in a different style. Bring the good headphones, this one is scored, not soundtracked.

Legend of the Forest: 2nd Movement is a fantasy movie. Sequel of Mori no Densetsu
