The cycle doesn't break because someone wants it to. It breaks because one person refuses to watch it happen again, even when the rules shift beneath her feet. Kiyoi doesn't save anyone with strength or strategy, she saves them by choosing to be the one who remembers what happened last time, when everyone else forgot. The real horror isn't the darkness coming back. It's that she's the only one who saw it leave.

Another Selector Battle begins, and this time the rules have changed. A new card called "Key" enters the game, and it can be unlocked with gold coins to release a hidden power. The Selectors' peaceful days turn out to be brief. Kiyoi Mizushima is the first to sense that something is wrong, and she sets out to end the cycle of darkness, looking for capable allies along the way. Both the mastermind and their motive stay hidden, while supporters of the defeated Kou Satomi work to revive his plans. Suzuko, Chinatsu, Hanna, Ruuko, Yuzuki, Hitoe and Akira gather once more as the darkness grows heavier in this psychological second season.
