A world where touch is forbidden and everyone exists behind screens, solved by a murder that forces strangers into a room together. The premise collapses under its own weight partway through, but the first half nails something real: what happens when connection becomes dangerous enough that people forget why they need it. Watch it for the concept, not the payoff.

A deadly virus has sharply reduced the world's population, and the society that remains is tightly controlled and watched through cameras. People eat synthetic food, avoid physical contact, and talk to one another almost entirely through monitors. Shops have vanished, and children may meet face to face only at community centres, the old schools. A small group of girls wants real contact anyway: the aloof Ayumi Kono, the prodigy hacker Mio Tsuzuki and the quiet Hazuki Makino. When a serial killer begins murdering junior high students, surveillance tightens. The girls learn that the latest victim had been in touch with them. As they search for their missing friend Yuko Yabe, helped by Myao Rei, an unregistered citizen skilled in martial arts, they are pulled into a dark mystery about their world. The film is a sci-fi thriller adapted from a novel by Natsuhiko Kyogoku.
