Leafie is a laying hen on an egg farm, stuck in the same repetitive routine day after day while she dreams of a free life outside. One day she fakes her own death and gets away from the farm. Once free, she hatches a duck egg, and the duckling takes her for his mother. Together the two set out into the wild as Leafie searches for the freedom she has longed for.
