Anime Like Magical Play

SYNOPSIS
Twelve-year-old Padudu has been chosen to compete in her town's magical coliseum, and she sets out determined to prove herself. Her only companion is a living magical fish costume that doubles as both shelter and sustenance on the road. When a river sweeps her away from her path, she crashes into Dance Valley, where the local mayor sees her as a threat to his own candidate's chances of victory. He tosses her into a dungeon to keep her out of the way, expecting that to be the end of it. Instead, Padudu meets Nonononn, a mysterious witch imprisoned in the same cell. The two form an unexpected alliance, combining their magical abilities to escape and survive the increasingly bizarre challenges thrown their way. What follows is a scrappy adventure across a whimsical world filled with colorful characters, ridiculous situations, and genuine danger. The chemistry between Padudu's earnest determination and Nonononn's enigmatic personality drives the humor, while their budding friendship anchors the heart of the story.
