This is a magical girl show that knows the genre's playbook well enough to break it without losing the fun. Sasami gets powers not because destiny demands it, but because a literal deity needed someone convenient to fix the world, and the entire premise never lets you forget how absurd that actually is. The comedy lands because it's punching at the tropes themselves, not at the characters trying to live inside them.

Sasami is an ordinary girl running an errand, delivering a CD from her mother's store to a spooky mansion, when she stumbles into something impossible. Tsunami, next in line to rule the magical kingdom of Juraihelm, recruits her on the spot, giving her a baton that lets her transform into a magical girl and tasking her with setting the world right. Ryo-Okhi, a rabbit-like creature, is sent along as her guide. The catch: Sasami finds the whole idea too embarrassing and refuses at first. Meanwhile, Tsunami's arrogant rival Ramia wants the crown for herself and enlists her own magical girl, the eccentric Pixy Misa, to stop Tsunami from being crowned. As Misa unleashes Love-Love monsters on the world, Sasami has to swallow her pride and take up the role of Pretty Sammy. This is a comedic, fantasy-flavored mahou shoujo series that has plenty of fun with its genre.
