You're watching Team Rabbits operate without their ace, which means every fight is the squad figuring out a new way to stay alive when they shouldn't. The movie understands what made the series work: character breakthroughs happen during combat, not in dialogue scenes, and the humor lands because these kids don't have time to be anything but themselves under pressure. It's a direct continuation that rewards everyone who actually finished the show, though it stops short of closing anything, this is a middle chapter that knows it is one.

Humanity's genetically engineered soldiers defeated an alien invasion once before, but the Wulgaru aren't finished. They've created Diorna, a hybrid warrior born from the DNA of two Wulgaru royals, and a deadlier threat than anything the Evolved Children have faced. With their leader still recovering from his previous battle, Team Rabbits finds itself without the pilot who brought down the royal Jiart. Command falls to Toshikazu Asagi, who is not ready for the role he is suddenly given. Joined by the newly formed Team Fawn and the rest of Team Rabbits, Asagi must hold the line against Diorna as she leads a fresh attack on Earth. The pilots take their AHSMB battle armor into combat once again in this mecha action film set against their most ruthless enemy so far.
