Mazinger Z gets a comedic makeover in these bite-sized Flash shorts that air during Japan's morning broadcast, running on NTV's ZIP! program a few minutes before 7:00 am from April 2013. The characters from the original Mazinger Z return for small comedy sketches that keep the premise of that series while poking silly fun at life in modern Japan. The shorts took over the slot from ZIP!'s earlier Gatchaman parody, and the Gatchaman team drops in on some episodes. Across 237 episodes, it's low-stakes entertainment that asks little beyond a willingness to laugh at goofy takes on familiar characters.
