Three songs, and every one of them lands like a confession you weren't supposed to hear. "Yobanashi Deceive" hurls Kano at you at full sprint, all grin and deflection and that manic chorus, and the joke curdles the second you realize the liar is lying about himself. "Lost Time Memory" is Shintaro's self-loathing set to a guitar line that refuses to let him sit still, regret at running speed. Then "Ayano no Koufuku Riron" pulls the floor out: a girl explaining to her siblings that red is the color of heroes, dyeing her scarf, and you already know how that story ends. Jin writes hooks that hide the knife until the second listen, and Sidu and Wannyanpu's PVs keep dropping frames you only catch on rewatch. Twelve minutes, and the scarf still means something years later.

Three music videos from the Mekakucity Records DVD release continue the stories of the Mekakushi-dan members after Mekakucity Days. The songs come from Jin's vocaloid series, sung by IA and Hatsune Miku. In Yobanashi Deceive, Shuuya Kano tells a story about a born liar whose red eyes let him change his appearance at will, a boy who has lost track of who he really is. In Lost Time Memory, Shintarou Kisaragi shuts himself in his room, weighed down by past choices and torn between moving on and sinking into regret. In Ayano no Koufuku Riron, Ayano Tateyama's parents adopt three red-eyed orphans. Ayano sets out to be a good older sister, shows them that their red eyes are beautiful, and founds a secret club called the Mekakushi-dan. The pieces lean psychological and science fiction.
