Twenty-five episodes of watching a fox with a genuinely brilliant plan lose to his own confidence, and somehow you never get tired of it. This is the third helping of Motto!, which means Zorori is still chasing the same two things he has chased since the storybooks: a castle of his own and the title of King of Pranks, with Ishishi and Noshishi trailing behind him ready to eat whatever blows up. The franchise already burned through the magic forest with Nelly and the whole Minus Eel and Legendary Prank King business in the earlier seasons, so by now the pleasure is pure formula: setup, cackle, catastrophe, next town. Nothing heavy ever lands here, no lesson gets hammered in, the gags just keep the punchline aimed squarely at Zorori. And his mother is still up there in the clouds, watching her son fail with total faith that tomorrow he pulls it off.

Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori returns for a third season, running 25 episodes on TV in 2022. The show is an adventure comedy in the Kaiketsu Zorori franchise. An earlier series in that franchise adapted Yutaka Hara's storybooks and featured Zorori alongside his companions Ishishi and Noshishi.
