A mermaid in a Hakata dialect shows up to ruin a guy's fishing trips and somehow that's the entire show, and it works because the jokes land in the space between frames. Every character exists to interrupt the last joke, the pacing never lets you breathe long enough to notice the animation's falling apart, and the comedy isn't trying to be clever, it's just trying to be funny. This is what happens when a show knows exactly how long it needs to be and refuses to overstay it.

Takurou's peaceful fishing routine shatters the moment he hooks something that shouldn't exist: a chatty mermaid named Muromi-san with a thick Hakata accent and zero chill. Instead of disappearing back into the ocean, she keeps showing up at the pier whenever he fishes, and she's bringing friends. Soon the dock turns into a gathering spot for her crew: fellow mermaids like Sumida-san, Fuji-san, Levia-san and Hii-chan, plus other mythical creatures such as a yeti and a harpy. Each visit brings new absurd situations and silly comedy. Takurou just wants to fish in peace, but that's not happening. The short episodes mix fantasy weirdness with slice-of-life mundanity and a dash of ecchi, for comedy that never takes itself seriously.
