// WHY IT HITS

Shizuku and Haru's dynamic works because neither one needs fixing, they just need someone who sees them as they actually are. The show trades the usual shoujo formula for two people who are genuinely awkward at connection, so when they fumble toward understanding each other, it feels earned instead of inevitable. The comedy lands hardest when Haru's feral energy meets Shizuku's deadpan rejection of the world, and for the first half that collision is pure electricity. The show's biggest problem is that it mistakes Haru's physical violence for character depth, by the second half, what looked like funny chaos starts reading as control, and the romance loses its footing. Still, those early episodes when they're just learning to exist near each other without armor hit different. You're rooting for two people who thought connection was impossible, watching them realize it isn't.

SYNOPSIS

Shizuku is a straight-A student who treats other people like distractions from what really matters: her perfect GPA and future prospects. She has zero interest in friendship, romance, or anything that doesn't boost her academic standing. Then she literally crashes into Haru, a guy with such a violent reputation that most students cross the street to avoid him. Haru's been written off as a delinquent nobody wants around, but Shizuku discovers he's actually just genuinely bad at reading social situations and connecting with people. What starts as Shizuku tutoring Haru slowly becomes something neither of them expected. They begin to see past their own defensive walls, awkwardly learning how to actually care about someone else. Shizuku realizes that her cold approach to life is keeping her isolated, while Haru figures out that being genuine doesn't always result in rejection. Watching these two emotionally stunted teenagers fumble through feelings they barely understand becomes genuinely funny and oddly touching. It's a comedy about what happens when two people completely bad at being human decide to try anyway.
