Their happiness is threatened when Mayo, one of Taka's students with an obsessive crush on him, discovers the book that holds the Universe of the Four Gods, the world where Miaka once served as the priestess of Suzaku and Taka fought as the warrior Tamahome. Determined to claim Taka for herself, Mayo enters that world hoping to become the new priestess and rewrite the story in her favor.
