Long ago, the western regions of Gamma split into two great factions, mages and sorcerers. Young Nasreddin and Louis are raised by their grandfather Tokrak. When forces of the Sand Demon King strike Nasreddin's home city on the fire continent, Tokrak loses both of his hands. Nasreddin then gathers companions and sets off in search of the Jade Dragon Ring to save the western regions. The sand devil wants to turn the region's forests, rivers, grasslands and oases into barren desert under his rule. To protect the people and hold back the desert, a band of young adventurers travels to the Kunlun Mountains to find the legendary Hu Poplar King and stop the spreading sand. The result is a long-running fantasy adventure across a land threatened by desert.
