On the Cangyun Continent, the Medicine Sage Yun Gu is brutally killed because he holds the Sky Poison Pearl, one of the Seven Heavenly Treasures and a prize the whole realm covets. His disciple, Yun Che, takes the treasure and sets out to avenge his master, spilling endless blood along the way. Trapped by powerful enemies at the Desolate Sky Cliff, he refuses to let them have the pearl: he swallows it and throws himself off the cliff. An unknown power then carries his consciousness through time and space, and he awakens inside a boy named Xiao Che in Flowing Cloud City on the Tianxuan Continent. Since birth, Xiao Che has had damaged profound veins that leave him unable to cultivate profound energy, and people widely mock him for it. The Sky Poison Pearl he swallowed has now merged completely with his left hand.
