Keiichi Tanaami animates "Instant Karma" like he's translating the song's internal weather into color and motion, every frame a small rebellion against stillness. The animation doesn't illustrate the music, it thinks alongside it, finding shapes and rhythms the song only suggests. One episode, seven minutes, designed to be watched the way you'd listen to a perfect song twice in a row.

Keiichi Tanaami sets John Lennon's song, taken from the album Imagine, to animation in a 1973 short. The music video portrays the romance between Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, backed by a love song Lennon wrote himself. Psychedelic visuals in the spirit of the sixties run through the piece, along with scattered references to Lennon's work with the Beatles.
