You watch this expecting the Yuru Yuri energy and instead find yourself sitting still for 45 minutes, completely held by three sisters who actually feel like they share blood. The comedy steps back. The pacing slows. What fills that space is genuine warmth between people who know each other too well to perform, and that's rarer than you think. A spin-off of Yuru Yuri, this comedy film is the first half of the Oomuro-ke duology and centers on Sakurako Oomuro and her two sisters. Sakurako is a cheerful, high-energy first-year middle schooler who keeps wearing out the patience of older sister Nadeshiko and younger sister Hanako. One day she arrives home happy after Himawari helped with her homework, only to find Hanako hiding with a marker beard on her face. Then Nadeshiko discovers her ice cream is gone, and Sakurako ends up on the losing side of a two-against-one sibling standoff.
