A decade after Perception Art revolutionized how people see the world, Kazuya Yamanashi enrolls at prestigious Eisen High School determined to master the medium like his parents before him. The son of famous artists, he also hopes to repair his friendship with Kyou Takise, a childhood friend who has kept away from him ever since an incident ten years ago. Kazuya starts at the school together with Jun Tsuzuki, another friend from childhood, while Kyou, now a third-year, studies grading in a separate track. When the school pairs Kazuya and Kyou for the Staircaser contest, whose winners represent Eisen for the year, the two must put their differences aside to have any hope of competing.
