A nuclear wasteland pretending to search for paradise while wrestling with what it actually means to be human. The android 1019 doesn't ask permission to exist as herself, the show just lets her, matter-of-fact, in 1992. Second episode abandons the weak mythology setup entirely and becomes something colder and realer: a story about the mercenary girl who hired them, the actual cost of searching for something that was never there.

After a nuclear war wipes out most of humanity and breaks the United States into six rival states, a legend spreads of OZ, a fabled city where everything still functions. In 2021, the scientist Felicia goes looking for it, hoping to find her missing brother, who is said to live there. She hires the mercenary Muto to get her there, and they travel with 1019, an android her brother sent. When they reach the end of their quest, the paradise they expected turns out to be something far more sinister. OZ exists, but not as anyone imagined. This two-episode sci-fi action drama OVA is loosely based on L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz by way of a manga by Itsuki Natsumi.
