This special exists to answer a question you didn't know you were asking: who were Lafiel's parents, really, and what made them decide to have her. The answer isn't dramatic or world-shaking, it's two people finding each other on an abandoned ship, discovering they work, and choosing to build something together. That's the whole thing, and it's enough because watching Dubus and Plakia actually like each other is rarer in sci-fi than any plot twist.

Aboard a mysterious spaceship that has been abandoned, Dubus and Plakia share an adventure. What happens there leads the two of them to decide to have a daughter together. The special also reveals why Dubus chose the name Lafiel for her, so it serves as an origin story for Lafiel's birth. This single-episode sci-fi romance special centers on her parents and the choice that brought her into the world.
