Wolves haven't gone extinct, they've just learned to hide. In a distant future where humanity believes the species vanished two centuries ago, wolves survive by passing as human. A lone wolf named Kiba follows the scent of Lunar Flowers, said to lead the way to paradise, into Freeze City, a poor town ruled by the harsh Lord Orkham. The scent comes from Cheza, a girl kept asleep in a lab, and she and the wolves are drawn to one another. When a mysterious figure named Darcia takes her, Kiba's search starts over. Along the way he meets three other wolves, Tsume, Hige and Toboe, and despite clashing personalities the four set out together across ruined cities and barren land. Others want paradise too, and some with darker aims will do whatever it takes to get there first. The result mixes action, adventure, drama and mystery in a sci-fi fantasy setting.
