Pikotaro voices every character in bedtime stories that last three minutes and refuse to make sense. Each episode is a fever dream where a silly man crashes into fairy tales and rewrites them on the spot, so you never know if you're watching improv comedy or a lullaby designed to put you to sleep. The whole thing works best when you stop asking what happens next and just let it wash over you.

Pikotaro pays visits to the heroes of well-known fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Little Match Girl, and turns each meeting into an absurd bedtime story. Every three-minute episode is improvised without a script, sparked by an illustration from director Takashi Taniguchi. Pikotaro voices every role himself, playing both the characters and his own part. The result is a short comedy built on spontaneous, silly takes on classic tales.
