Two ordinary girls get pulled into saving two worlds, and the show treats that responsibility like it actually matters. Five years ago, during a summer festival, Saki Hyuuga and Mai Mishou first crossed paths at a mysterious tree after following strange glowing lights. Now they meet again under the Sky Tree, where two spirits, Flappy of the flowers and Choppy of the birds, find them. The spirits have escaped from Akudaikaan, the evil ruler of Dark Fall, who has seized six of the seven fountains that guard the World Tree that sustains life. Flappy and Choppy grant the girls the power to become Pretty Cure. Saki is the star pitcher on her school's softball team, while Mai would rather draw than watch the stars. Together they battle Akudaikaan's minions to win back the fountains in a comedic magical girl adventure full of action.
