A robot boy drifts through space after his final act to save Earth, in a what-if story set after the original manga ends. The three members of the music group ravex rescue him, and he is miraculously revived not by the surgeon Black Jack but by a figure called Space Jack. Reborn and evolved, the boy takes the name Ratom. The Princess Knight and other Osamu Tezuka characters appear in this new tale. The music OVA ties into an album featuring BoA, Maki Goto, Anna Tsuchiya, Tohoshinki and TRF, released to mark Avex's 20th anniversary and what would have been Tezuka's 80th birthday. Viewers who enjoy music-driven anime or Tezuka's wider cast of characters may find it worth a look.
