Each episode is a completely different show directed by a different person. You're not watching a story unfold, you're watching twelve different artists use the same character as a lens to show you how they see the city at night. That format could be gimmicky, but instead it becomes this weird intimacy where you're discovering not just Ekoda, but the specific way each director's brain works.

Ekoda-chan is a 24-year-old from the countryside who lives alone in the city neighborhood of Ekoda, drifting between temp jobs and exploring the nightlife. She has a boyfriend but prefers keeping things casual, likes lounging around naked, and treats popular girls, whom she calls "birds of prey", as her natural enemy. Adapted from a four-panel comedy manga, the omnibus series gives each episode its own director, character designer, voice cast and studio. Every episode runs a short animated segment of about three and a half minutes, then moves to live-action interviews with the creators and finishes by showing the short being drawn.
