The mahjong battles don't wait for you to understand the rules; they move like chaos with a soundtrack, each hand a small supernatural collision you feel before you understand it. These final episodes strip away the original series' wandering pacing and lock in on what matters: girls with impossible abilities discovering what they're actually fighting for in the national stage. By the time Achiga reaches the semifinals, you've stopped caring about the game mechanics and started caring about whether Shizuno finds what she was chasing when she first revived the club.

The Inter-High Mahjong Championship semifinals are still underway, and the girls of Achiga High School, the club Shizuno Takakamo revived, are left stunned after seeing what Shiraitodai High School's champion Teru Miyanaga can do at the table. The odds are stacked against them, but the match has only just started and there is still time to fight back. These four specials are the closing episodes of Saki: Achiga-hen - Episode of Side-A, a sports and slice-of-life story built around competitive mahjong.
