Every created thing has a purpose, and for some that purpose is fulfilled only in death. A person's treasured possession can gain a soul and take human shape, but an Object Spirit left without a master can only roam until it fades to dust. Qingdai, the spirit of a royal umbrella, is charged with guarding the spirit of a sword. When that sword fairy breaks out of the royal pavilion bent on revenge, Qingdai sets off with a young craftsman to stop a war from breaking out. The film is a fantasy about the spirits that live inside objects.
