Two people choose death together. One of them wakes up alone. That's the entire engine of this story, and it burns everything down from there. The animation moves like silk across stillness, letting you sit in the weight of a promise broken before you even understand what the promise was. By the time revenge arrives, you're not sure anymore if it's justified or just the only way left to feel close to someone who chose to leave you behind.

In ancient Japan, a princess and her lover flee from the people chasing them. When capture starts to look certain, the two swear to take their own lives rather than let the princess be returned to the life she left behind. Each of them turns a blade on themselves, but the pact does not go as planned. Now one of the pair wants revenge for having been abandoned. The short drama and romance runs about fifteen minutes in its web release, cut down from a longer version of roughly seventeen minutes that won the fine art award at the 18th DoGA CG animation contest and later played in theaters.
