Ye Chong grew up by himself on an unnamed junk planet, until he accidentally switches on Mu Shang, a one-of-a-kind mecha run by artificial intelligence. When a stellar catastrophe strikes the planet, the two escape together. Out in the wider universe, they find themselves drawn into unforeseen plots and turmoil, with much still unknown ahead of them.
