This thirteenth episode is the exhale, Fumika and Kanaka back on the route, the aging that should be impossible still quietly ticking. The score does the heavy lifting it always did, restrained piano under scenes that would collapse into melodrama with a louder show. Kanaka's mouthy staff-side commentary is still the only thing keeping the whole thing from going under. You come for closure on a mail carrier who was never supposed to grow up, and you get one more envelope you weren't ready to open.
