Douzen, a Taoist priest who wanders the land, comes across a young girl who was brought up by a yokai and knows nothing of human feeling or affection. He gives her the name Shouzen and takes her along as his disciple. Together they travel through the human world, driving out demons and evil spirits, while Shouzen undergoes spiritual training and asks what goodness and love truly are as she slowly grows into a human being. The result is a supernatural slice of life story about a quiet journey of growth.
