Sakuragi's second real game turns into a reunion with someone he actually respects, which means his usual trash talk has nowhere to hide. The movie strips away the tournament pressure and just lets you watch a kid figure out who he is on the court against someone who matters. A revenge match that isn't really about revenge at all.

Sakuragi and his Shohoko teammates take the court against Takezono High School in this sports movie that mixes comedy and drama. The game is only the second match Sakuragi has ever played, and across from him stands Oda, a basketball player from Takezono who went to the same junior high school as Sakuragi. The film centers on this single contest between the two schools.
