Shirayuki refuses to be rescued, she rescues herself, then someone else, then builds something that didn't exist before she arrived. Season 2 proves the first season wasn't a fluke; this is a romance where both people actually grow into their own strength instead of growing into each other. The animation is gorgeous, but the real beauty is watching two people choose partnership over possession, again and again, across twelve episodes that never once feel like filler.

Shirayuki has settled into her new life in Clarines, training as an apprentice herbalist at the royal palace, and she and Prince Zen have finally acknowledged their feelings for one another. Their routine is interrupted when Crown Prince Izana, Zen's older brother, receives an invitation from Raji, the prince of Tanbarun who once demanded that Shirayuki become his concubine. Shirayuki is ordered to spend seven days in Tanbarun to forge a new friendship with him. On the way, trouble finds her again: a mysterious boy named Kazuki, whom she has never met, is looking for her. The season is a fantasy romance drama that continues the story of the young couple and the unwanted attention her rare red hair brings.
