Anpanman movies exist in a space where nothing breaks and kindness solves problems, which is exactly what makes them work for people who need that right now. Buruburu's cowardice isn't a flaw to punish, it's the actual plot. A scared lion finding his courage through a treasure hunt with the friendliest hero in anime lands exactly where it needs to.

Buruburu is a timid lion who belongs to a clan of treasure hunters. When his father hands him a treasure map, he sees a chance to show the rest of the clan what he is made of. With Anpanman at his side, he sets off on an adventure to find the treasure. Trouble arrives when Baikinman shows up with a plan to grab the prize for himself. The film is a comedic fantasy adventure about a cowardly lion trying to prove himself.
