Nobody's watching this one expecting depth. Anpanman rolls into a race, helps people along the way, gets a new head when his gets dirty, does it again. The movie doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is: a kid watching their hero move through a world that exists to be fixed by him, one town at a time. There's comfort in that simplicity. There's no irony, no subtext, no lesson that lands weird. Just a character who was literally made to help, doing exactly that, and the quiet satisfaction of a problem solved in 25 minutes flat. This is the show you put on when you need the world to make sense again.
