A century-old song about early spring gets animated into something that feels like watching frost melt. Seiichi Hayashi's hand moves through each frame with the same patience the song demands, never rushing, never ornamental. You don't watch this, you sit with it.

Soushunfu is a single music video set to a song whose lyrics Kazumasa Yoshimaru wrote and whose music Akira Nakata composed in 1913. The vocal performance comes from the choir Shonan Chor Grün, and the piece aired on the NHK program Minna no Uta. Seiichi Hayashi animated the video, giving the old song a short visual accompaniment.
