In the year 2220, a moving black hole is expanding and threatens to swallow Earth. To escape the danger, a migration effort is launched to carry more than 300 million people away from the planet. When the most recent transport fleet comes under attack, Space Battleship Yamato steps in to protect it. The ship is now under the command of Susumu Kodai, 38, and his daughter Miyuki, the child of Susumu and Yuki, is also aboard. Set 21 years after the first Yamato story and 17 years after Final Yamato, the film is a sci-fi action adventure with dramatic stakes.
