Tylor stumbles into every situation like he's solving a puzzle with his eyes closed, except somehow his total lack of a plan works better than anyone else's strategy ever could. His crew is so fractured and dysfunctional that watching them actually gel feels like you're witnessing something real breaking through the chaos. The show knows the joke isn't that he's lucky, it's that the universe bends around someone too genuinely kind to care about rank, protocol, or the impossible odds stacked against him.

Justy Ueki Tylor's master plan to coast through military service with a comfortable job hits a snag when he stumbles into a hostage situation and accidentally becomes a hero. As a reward for his bumbling heroics, he is given command of the Soyokaze, a decrepit warship crewed by an eccentric band of misfits. The crew is far from pleased with their carefree new leader. Now the looming threat of the Raalgon Empire hangs over them, and Earth's fate rests with this rundown ship and its unlikely captain. His crew must figure out whether Tylor's casual indifference hides real brilliance or whether they are serving under a complete fool. The result is a science fiction adventure comedy about an underdog crew and a captain who could be their salvation or their ruin.
