Space Dandy doesn't care if you understand the joke, only that you feel it. Each episode is a different director's fever dream dressed up as a alien-hunting adventure, which means the show pivots from slapstick to existential crisis to pure visual nonsense without warning. The pompadour stays perfect through all of it.

Dandy's still got that magnificent pompadour, and he's still chasing aliens across the cosmos for cold hard cash. The universe is packed with undiscovered species waiting to be documented, and if Dandy's the one to find them first, the reward is his. The business runs on speed, so he has to beat every rival hunter to each new find. Along for the ride are QT, a battered old robot, and Meow, an alien from Betelgeuse who looks a bit like a cat. Together they roam uncharted planets full of strange life forms, while minions of the Gogol Empire keep pursuing them for reasons nobody has explained. This second season is a comedy sci-fi romp built on that premise.
