Space Soldier Hong Gildong is an animated feature film that adapts Heo Gyun's novel The Tale of Hong Gildong. It takes the title character out of the book's original setting and moves the story into science fiction. As an action and adventure film, it reimagines the figure from that tale amid the trappings of space-age sci-fi.
