Speed is a 1980 comedy short from Furukawa Takumi that asks a deceptively simple question: has humankind really advanced, or has it barely moved at all? In a single brief film, the story of human development gets a wry, humorous treatment rather than a straightforward celebration, poking fun at how much, or how little, people have actually progressed.
