This is the one that makes you stop scrubbing and just watch the frames. Three episodes, 1997, and the animation budget shows up in every panning shot of that cosmic Sakura fest, one of those late-OVA flexes where somebody clearly decided a space cherry blossom festival deserved real money. Then it undercuts itself constantly: Yohko and the Terra team crash on a backwater world, get mistaken for the four goddesses of local prophecy, and spend the whole time worrying about whether their new charge is hungry again. That gap between grand legend and grubby survival logistics is the entire joke, and the show plays it completely straight-faced. It's slept on because nobody bothers with the sequel OVA to a series most people already skipped. Their loss. This is where the franchise finally looks as good as it always thought it did.
